Fiberglass Supply inventories a wide variety of reinforcements commonly used in Fiber Reinforced Plastics and Advanced Composite fabrication. We are continually adding new products in response to customer requirements. Additionally many of our product lines have additional items available, on a non standard basis. The reinforcements listed below are generally available for immediate shipment as full rolls or as cut yardage.  Check with us for exact lengths or weights on full rolls available at time of order. To protect material integrity and for your convenience, Cut Yardage is rolled on cardboard tube and wrapped for protection. Cut Yardage is clearly labeled with Yardage or Weight, Fabric Style, Fabric Weight and Fabric Finish.  When ordering cut yardage it is preferred that you order by the lineal yard.  Conversions have been provided where applicable for the purpose of estimating the cost of reinforcements sold by the pound. You will be invoiced for actual weight of the rolled off item. Contact us for information, specifications, pricing and availability if the material you require is not listed below. To make it easier for the customer to find the material needed we have broken reinforcements into four categories with a Specialty Fabric Category to be added in the future.

Below are further explanations of some fabric types.


Fiberglass Surfboard Fabrics are produced with special care to meet the unique requirements of the surfboard/sailboard industry.  Extra precautions, including 100% inspection are taken to ensure a consistent, uniform fabric.  Special finishes provide soft drapeability during lay-up and a near clear laminate.  These fabrics are suited to applications where surface cosmetics and laminate clarity are considerations.  The narrower widths are also convenient for many canoe, kayak and other applications where these widths, weights are suitable.

Fiberglass Boat & Tooling Fabrics, are manufactured primarily for use in wet lay-up applications. As the name implies, these fabrics were originally designed for use in marine and the tooling or mold making industries.  Boat & Tooling Fabrics are constructed with an open weave and are ideal where quick wet out, air release and conformity are primary considerations.  Used to provide reinforcement for protective coating over various surfaces, to fabricate laminates or as a processing aid over chopped strand mat to enhance workability, cosmetics and increase physical properties. Boat & Tooling Fabrics are available in a variety of weaves, weights, widths and finishes to suit a wide range of applications.

Fiberglass Industrial Fabrics, are usually high count, tightly woven fiberglass fabrics designed for use in highly engineered structures where optimum glass to resin ratios are required. Industrial Fabrics are available in a variety of weaves, weights, widths and finishes to suit a wide range of applications.


Carbon Fiber Fabrics, are characterized by a combination of light weight, high strength and high stiffness. Carbon Fiber & Graphite Fiber Fabrics are available in a variety of weaves, weights, widths and finishes to suit a wide range of applications.

Kevlar® 49 Fabrics, Kevlar® is the DuPont trade name for a unique fiber called Aramid. Low density, high tensile strength and excellent toughness distinguish Aramid fibers.  Aramid fibers are used in composites to provide lightweight, strong laminates with excellent resistance to fatigue and impact damage as well as good wear resistance. Kevlar® Fabrics are available in a variety of weaves, weights, widths and finishes to suit a wide range of applications.

Hybrid Fabrics, are reinforcements that combine two or more different fibers in a common matrix, expanding the range of properties that can be achieved.  Hybrid Fabrics are available in a variety of weaves, weights, widths and finishes to suit a wide range of applications.  Contact us for information, specifications, pricing and availability if the material you require is not listed below.


Knitted Fabrics, a process that allows the fibers to lay in a flat plain to carry loads more efficiently for greater stiffness and strength than woven fibers.  Available as Unidirectional, Biaxial (0, 90), Double Bias (+45, -45), Triaxial (+45, -45, 0 or 90) and Quadraxial (+-45, 0, 90), they offer considerable advantages for designing superior performance into laminates. Knitted Fabrics are available in a variety of weaves, weights, widths and finishes to suit a wide range of applications.


Woven Roving is made from continuous glass fiber roving which are interlaced into heavy weight fabrics. Compatible with most resin systems.  Used in most cases to increase the flexural and impact strength of laminates.  Ideal for multi-layer hand lay-up applications where great material strength is required.  Good drapeability, wet out and cost effective.  With Woven Roving as a general rule estimate the resin/reinforcement ratio at 1:1 by weight.  Woven Roving is available in a variety of weaves, weights, widths and finishes to suit a wide range of applications.

Chopped Strand Mat, a random fiber reinforcement designed for use with polyester and vinyl ester resin systems. Uses a styrene monomer soluble binder to hold strands in place, not compatible with epoxy resin systems. Use as basic laminate reinforcement and for gel coat backup to minimize weave print through and pin air bubbles.  Chopped Strand Mat is available in a variety of weights and widths to suit a wide range of applications.
